Changing culture for the long term in Pharma

 

This Pharma IT team were making the shift from support service to change agents – exactly what was needed to support the company’s manufacturing strategy. We worked with them over a period of eight years, helping to develop a values-led approach so they could engage more deeply with their greater purpose. We delivered team workshops, 1:1 coaching, and outdoor activities that took them out of role and expanded their creativity. Over this time the team thrived with high levels of engagement, collaboration and impact across the business.

Values led coaching

One team member Pete, needed help in stepping in to lead when necessary. Pete had an introverted preference and valued supporting others. Often, he couldn’t meet his goals in the time frame required. Pete’s manager was a good coach yet couldn’t get to the nub of what was standing in his way. We were invited to coach him. Given Pete’s reliable and steadfast approach to work, we undertook a personal values assessment. The conversation that followed revealed what was truly important to him, and how he could use his values to engage with the team members he found challenging. This allowed him to stay on purpose with his own goals.
